Okay, take the poll and tell us what you what to see next on Outdoorzy! See the descriptions below to help you decide.
Groups - This would be a feature that allows members to join Groups that they want to be associated with. A group will have their own page and it will list the group members and have a bulletin board to post ideas, plan events, post pictures, talk shop, etc. The groups you belong to will also show up on your profile.
Mapping - This feature would be a mapping feature using Google Maps. It would allow you to map routes you have taken, or zoom in on maps and possibly satellite images to plan trips. We would also work on a way to print and share maps with others.
Trip Planner - This would be an area of the site allowing members to search for a place in combination with an activity and the results would be trip reports, national parks, areas of interest, general information, maps, and a weather toolbar showing the current weather there. This feature would also show members who are listed as living near the area you are interested in so you can ask questions if needed. It would also have hotel, restaurant, and possibly campground recommendations.
So Sound Off and let us know what you think!

I think the trip planner is a cool idea. It is a very useful tool and will probably draw many more people to the site.

Groups and mapping are logical progressions for this site, but I like the originality of the Trip Planner proposal. Getting the inside information from members who have been there and done that is invaluable to successful planning. Also, from a business perspective (I can't help it - it's how my mind works), there is certainly significant commercial potential of a trip planner feature.

I wanted to post on this again since it's been a month or so since it's been mentioned and we have over 100 new members since then.
If any of you have any feedback on which of these areas you'd like to see us work on next, please vote! And comment if you want!
PS - Business Profiles (profiles that are being designed to help you find businesses that cater to your outdoor needs in the areas where you travel) will be up and ready to use soon, stay tuned.

Thanks wdew! I would too. I think as the membership keeps growing around here we'll have more people coming out of their shells hopefully.
